Whether you are a spouse at home or a professional in a facility, being a caregiver to someone with Alzheimer`s Disease presents many challenges. Individuals with Alzheimer`s often develop symptoms of anxiety, depression and disorientation that can be difficult to cope with on an regular basis. Alzheimer Groupe (A.G.I.) Inc. offers two comprehensive training programs. The Tauben Training Program for Home Caregivers and The Ditkofsky Training Program for Professional Caregivers
This program helps educate caregivers with communication skills, behavioural interventions and therapeutic recreation to help deal with the challenges they face. The training program consists of six hours of training which can be divided into two-hour blocks over a three week period. An attestation is given upon completion of training.

This program is tailored to meet the specific needs and expressed requirements of the professional - be it a facility or a day centre. Staff background and previous dementia care training are taken into consideration. Ditkofsky training may target difficult behaviours, programming of activities and communication skills as main areas of focus. The training program is divided into two days of six hours each. An attestation is given upon completion of training.
