About The Event
While a dementia diagnosis can put individuals at an increased risk of social isolation and loneliness, this does not have to characterize life after a diagnosis. With support, individuals living with dementia continue to enjoy meaningful social experiences and maintain valued friendships.
Learning objectives:
• Highlight strategies that can help maintain shared connection and enhance the time friends spend together after a diagnosis of dementia.
• Discuss the role leisure providers play in helping to create inclusive environments that support continued participation in community life.
